Description
Argan oil
- The argan tree only grows in the Souss-Massa region of southwestern Morocco.
- The argan tree produces fruit in July and August each year.
- When collected, the argan fruit resembles an olive.
- Processing involves peeling the fruit’s skin, removing its stone, extracting the nut, and pressing it to produce argan oil.
- Around 300 pounds of argan fruit can produce one gallon of 100% argan oil.
- Pure argan oil should be stored at room temperate in the shade, not in the refrigerator.
- Good quality argan oil needs to be filtered three times in order to get rid of impurities.
- Argan oil is a rich source of vitamin E, required for healthy skin and hair.
- Argan oil’s antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compounds may also help treat skin conditions… moisturizing skin, maintaining elasticity, reducing redness and inflammation, and healing wounds.
